In 2002, Kendra Scott combined her love for fashion with her creative talent and began her own line of jewelry out of the spare bedroom of her home. Her initial investment in the company was a mere $500, but combined with her design talent, passionate determination and fearless selling skills Kendra Scott Design Inc. has become a multimillion dollar company in 6 short years.

Kendra now manages a burgeoning business that includes a staff of fifteen-plus employees in Austin, Texas. Kendra has taken her jewelry line global by selling to accounts like Bloomingdale's, Nordstrom and over 900 privately owned specialty stores worldwide. More growth came to the company in 2007 when Kendra was approached by HSN to create a line of jewelry for their customers and sell it personally live on the air. Thus KS Studio by Kendra Scott was born in July 2007 and was an instant hit with the HSN audience. In 2008, the KS Studio brand expands to include travel accessories and handbags.

The creative energy behind Kendra's fashion-forward designs are known for their strikingly fresh and worldly color combinations that together with her talent for building successful business relationships continue to foster new opportunities and growth for her company. Two of Kendra's high profile partnerships include those with couture fashion designers Oscar de la Renta and Randolph Duke, each who featured Kendra as their accessories designer for their runway collections. In addition to working with these designers, Kendra assists many other national brands with private label design and production of their jewelry.

Professionally Kendra was recognized in 2007 by the Texas Women's Chamber of Commerce with the Rising Star award. Kendra's charisma and success has also led her to become a nationwide keynote speaker at many women's events hosted by such organizations as Texas Women's Chamber of Commerce, Central Texas Women in Radio and Television, EWomen Network and The American Heart Association. She was also selected out of hundreds of applicants from all over the world to participate in the Entrepreneurial Masters program at MIT. Kendra's company is a successful business and it is also a great place to work. Recognized by Austin Business Journal, Kendra Scott Design, Inc. was voted one of the Top Ten Places to Work in Central Texas in 2007.

As Kendra continues to grow Kendra Scott Design, she remains committed to the three philosophies that shape the company and continue to direct its course: family, fashion and philanthropy. With two young sons, both born while Kendra was developing her business, she has always held a “family-first” philosophy, creating a warm work environment that nurtures individual strengths, encourages fellowship and supports other mothers with flexible scheduling. Kendra is also driven to not only stay on top of current fashion trends, but to create them — enticing buyers with a fresh look with every new collection and release. And finally, the heart of Kendra Scott's business philosophy is in giving back to her community and beyond with over $100,000 given in gifts and charitable contributions over last three years to local and national charities.
